Flexible packaging film material

CPP Film Supplier For Lamination And Sealant Layers

CPP film is a cast polypropylene film used by converters as a sealant, toughness or inner layer in laminated flexible packaging structures. Buyers usually review CPP when sealing behavior, flexibility, transparency, puncture resistance or cost balance matters in snack, food, textile or general packaging rollstock.

Buyer Specification Checklist

ThicknessConfirm micron thickness, tolerance and whether CPP is used as a sealant layer, lamination web or standalone packaging film.
Roll widthConfirm target width, slitting tolerance, edge quality requirement and whether the roll is for printing, lamination, bag making or automatic packing.
Core / roll diameterConfirm core diameter, outside diameter limit, winding direction, roll weight preference and packing method before sampling.
Surface / treatmentConfirm corona treatment, seal side, lamination side and whether the surface must support printing, coating or adhesive bonding.
ApplicationUsed for food packaging, snack packaging, textile packaging, stationery, lamination structures and sealant layers where heat sealing and toughness are important.
DocumentsRequest available TDS, COA, SDS/MSDS or application-specific files by exact material grade and order scope.

CPP Film Selection Logic

CPP is often compared with PE and heat-sealable BOPP. CPP can offer good transparency, flexibility and heat sealing behavior, but the correct grade depends on filling condition, seal temperature, package size and lamination structure.

If CPP is used as an inner layer, buyers should confirm seal initiation, hot tack, puncture risk and contamination risk. If it is used for lamination, bond behavior and treatment condition should be checked before bulk order.

Sample Approval And QC

Converters should test seal strength, hot tack, film flatness, roll edge, winding tension, treatment level and machine handling. Sample rolls should be tested on the actual sealing or lamination line whenever possible.

QC review may include thickness consistency, appearance, blocking, haze, gloss, edge quality, roll telescoping risk, carton packing and batch traceability.

Common CPP RFQ Mistakes

Common gaps include missing seal temperature, unclear treatment side, no roll diameter limit and comparing CPP with PE or BOPP without stating the end use.

A complete RFQ should include application, thickness, width, core diameter, roll diameter, treatment side, monthly usage and required documents.

RFQ Details That Reduce Quotation Delay

Send material type, thickness, width, roll diameter, core diameter, surface treatment, print or lamination process, monthly usage, target market, required documents and packing method. If replacing an existing grade, provide the current structure or sample issue so the technical team can compare the requirement correctly.

Procurement FAQ

Is CPP film the same as BOPP film?

No. CPP is cast polypropylene and is often reviewed for sealing and toughness. BOPP is biaxially oriented and is often reviewed for stiffness, clarity and printability.

Can CPP film be laminated with PET or BOPP?

Yes, CPP is commonly reviewed as a sealant layer in laminated structures, but treatment and bond behavior should be tested.

What should I send for CPP film quotation?

Send thickness, width, treatment side, seal requirement, core size, roll diameter, monthly usage and application.
